Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend

From the archives, written December, 2017

Swimming in her obsidian

Or did you drown in Apache tears?

Shrinking with the inkling his jade eyes betrayed their nature

He was layered like the agate, merely aggregate of nurture

Poring over her peridot, her ignorance now opaque

With spirits so poor, a natural pour

Ruby sweet red in amethyst glass

No blood to draw from hematite bone

No innocent man to cast the first stone

  1. All the gems implanted in this poem is symbolic lovely as you worded it all into the blood diamond that one is willing to sacrifice for. A creative write indeed, something to add to the treasure chest.💎

    1. Thank you!!! I’m glad you liked it. I remember writing this just as I was starting to look into crystals. I used to collect them when I was a kid. I think this was the first time I really felt that flow, where the poem was writing itself, I was just typing. ❤️ it is a lot of fun digging around in this old chest ❤️

      1. It’s funny how some things inspire us to write and we can flow off that one thing, like you and your crystals turned into diamonds. And when your words come to you, I love the way they just subconsciously come out, it’s like an outer body poetry experience for you. I enjoyed this gem.❤️
